Downloading Instructions

  • Click on the option to download (above). If your browser lets you specify a directory to hold the downloaded file, put it in the same directory as your existing copy of What Mailing List? (e.g., C:\WML). Otherwise, you will need to know where downloaded files are stored (e.g., C:\WEB\DOWNLOAD).
  • Once the file is downloaded, go to a DOS prompt (you may do this from inside Windows or you can exit Windows, whichever you prefer).
  • Go to your WML directory. For example, you might type:
    C:
    CD \WML
  • Extract the archive by entering its name, just like you would run a programme. If you saved the downloaded file in the same directory as your existing copy, you would simply type:
    WML303
On the other hand, if the archive was saved in another directory then you would have to specify it. For example, if the downloaded file was stored in D:\DOWNLOAD then you would enter:
    D:\DOWNLOAD\WML303
If you are updating an existing copy, you will be asked whether to over-write the existing files. Press "A" to over-write all files. Your data files will remain intact.
  • After you are finished extracting the archive, you may move it to a floppy disk or you can simply erase it.
